I've been thinking a lot lately about Core Values and how to best express them. Thank you Tonya Dalton of Inkwell Press! This episode of the The Productivity Paradox walks you through step by step how to discover your personal and business core values. Why is this important? FOCUS! Defining your core beliefs brings it all into FOCUS. Once you can communicate your core beliefs - let go of the rest. We are free to cultivate those principles to the fullest and reflect them in all that we say and do. What are your core values? What do you believe helps you live your best life?
I want to help you declutter the junk and uncover the JOY.
When I was in college I fell in love with the confessional poets like Sylvia Plath, Robert Lowell, and Anne Sexton. Maybe it was that time in my life, but there was something so honest and raw in their poetry that spoke to my coming of age self. But one poem in particular resonates with me no matter what stage of life I am in. “Her Kind” by Anne Sexton has always been one of my favorite poems. As with most poems there are many interpretations and meanings, but for me it has always been about empathy and sisterhood.
As I start this new business journey, I want you to know I've been where you are. I understand how paper and clutter can overwhelm and take over your house and your mind. I know how much of a weight all of the stuff can be..."I have been her kind."
My favorite English professor, Dr. Cole once told me Anne Sexton used to begin each of her poetry readings with “Her Kind.” As I start this new life chapter, I do so as well in tribute to Anne and to you.
